Musashi Limited Edition Bamboo Fast Cutter Lightweight Katana, Clay Tempered, 1060 Carbon Steel Blade. Samurai Sword

This is a Limited Edition Musashi Sword design by Paul Southren of SBG. Full tang hand crafted by Musashi sword. The sword is razor sharp out of the box and is very light. The blade of the sword is hand forged with 1060 high carbon steel. This sword is full tang and it is perfect for practice and great for tameshigiri. It was designed by Paul for the purpose of fast cutting tameshigiri. The light weight katana can be swing and change directions quickly and is very responsive. Real ray skin wrapped tsuka and real wood saya completes this limited edition katana. This Bamboo Fast Cutter comes with a cotton-made black sword bag and is individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity matching the etched number on the tang. Check the Musashi engraving on seppa (spacer) for authenticity.

Hamidashi Tsuba

Hamidashi tsuba was commonly used on tanto exclusively. Tsuba is a sword guard meant to protect the hands from an opponents strike, therefore katana will not use hamidashi tsuba. This limited edition fast cutting katana was designed with double hi and uses hamidashi tsuba to reduce the weigh of katana for fast response and maneuverability.

Double Hi

A unique feature on this blade is the integrated double Hi. The Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a common misconception. The purpose of the Hi is to helps reduce the weight of the katana, it actually has nothing to do with channeling the blood. Making the Katana lighter enables the user to weld the katana smoother and puts less stress on the hands. Not to mention it benefits some advance cutting techniques that requires the katana to change direction rapidly.

Hamidashi Tsuba

Hamidashi style tsuba is rarely seen used on a Katana. Traditionally it is fitted to Tanto. The unique choice of using a hamidashi tsuba on the Bamboo Faster Cutter is to reduce the weight of the Katana for faster swings with less inertia weight.
